Where have we seen the Meizu M8 C-002 HiPhone before. It looks so familiar. What, with its touchscreen, its big bright colorful icons, its slick black body, the almost-slicker black box it comes in.

It’s as if we knew it in a past life. What could it be? It can’t possibly be a replica of the iPhone, after all, this one is called the HiPhone — it’s not even close. Well, it’s a mystery alright.

Apple 16GB iPhone And 32GB iPod Touch Announced

Don’t say Apple never gave you anything. The company announced today that it’s expanding the size of the iPhone and iPod Touch. The new iPhone will be 16GB and the new iPod Touch will be 32GB — effectively doubling the storage size for both.

Oh, they’ll also both sell for $100 more.

Xbox 360 to sell cheaper console in Japan

Microsoft Corp. has officially decided that they like Japan more than the US. According to Microsoft, they will begin selling cheaper entry-level Xbox 360s in Japan to compete with the Wii and the Playstation.

The entry-level console goes on sale on March 6th for $260 dollars — which is roughly a fifth less than the least expensive Xbox 360 in Japan. The bare-bone version also went on sale in the US late last year for $279.99.

Bill Gates Says Adieu

Bill Gates, the nerdiest and richest man in America gave what he said was his last keynote address at CES.

Gates is stepping away from his full-time work at Microsoft later this year in order to pursue other, world-changing paths, like building a giant laser gun to defend against alien invaders (yet another idea he stole from Steve Jobs, oddly enough.)

Garmin Nuvi 780 Announced at CES

img1Garmin used the Pre-CES announcement fest to announce an update to one of its best selling lineups - the Nuvi.

The newly announced Nuvi 780 features a 4.3 inch screen, MSN Direct (3 month subscription included) and highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps. The device is compatible with audible.com’s subscription service, allowing for easy downloads to the device.

Warner Bros Backs Blu-Ray

imgWarner Brothers, the largest seller of DVDs (15-20% market share) has announced that they will be backing Sony’s Blu-Ray technology over HD-DVD which is backed by Toshiba and Microsoft.

This announcement was followed by the cancellation of the HD-DVD press conference which was scheduled on Friday in the pre-CES announcement fest.
